military ball.

Dave and I were talking today about how we feel like the past week has been non-stop. I feel like once one task is done, it's on to the next. But let alone, my first week in Michigan has been great. I love my new job and am loving spending quality time with Dave and his family. 

Last night, we went to the annual JROTC military ball here in Michigan. Dave's dad is the head of the program so we all went to support. It was so fun getting all dressed up and just having a fun evening! Before knowing Dave, I knew very little about military related things. Dave was in the army national guard for 6 years, his dad is a retired colonel and his brother is law is an army helicopter pilot. So yeah, I am learning A LOT. I find myself asking, "What does that mean? Who does that? I don't understand.." many times during military talks and whatnot. But I am slowly getting it. Either way, I have a new found appreciation for military and am thankful for all that they do!

breakfast nooks.

I think everyone loves a good kitchen. I mean, who doesn't? But what really catches my eye is a lovely breakfast nook. Can anything scream "adorable" more than this sweet set up? I think not. It differs so much from your average breakfast table. Breakfast nooks can have so much personality. It gives you a chance to throw in some pillows and cushions and make eating breakfast look comfy.

my beam obsession.

So, I have a strong liking, okay... obsession with big wooden beams. Ohhh, just the thought of wooden beams in pretty homes makes me heart leap. I have a feeling a house with beams might be hard to come by, but I am determined I tell you! They just instantly make a house feel charming and cozy. 

making a move.

Yep, it's true. I am officially moving to Michigan. At least for awhile. You might already know my boyfriend and his amazing family live there. On top of that, I also landed an incredible job. (more on that soon!) I am really excited about this upcoming move. A little nervous about the snowy winters up there, but thankfully I'm moving just in time to enjoy the famous Michigan summer -- which I know from experience is the most beautiful place to be in the summer time. I'm really excited for this next step of life and can't wait to see what things God has in store for me. Cheers to a new adventure!

easter baskets.

Alright guys, Easter is coming up next week! and I couldn't be more thrilled. First and foremost, it's a day of celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It's also filled with fun traditions like dying eggs, easter egg hunts, an excuse to get a new dress and of course - easter baskets! My mom is always a genius when it comes to Easter baskets. She always finds the cutest things to personalize my me and my sister's baskets. Even at 23, I still absolutely love getting one, as well as making one for some one else.
